Most interesting as I have a wife who at times may still believe that phone calls are still cheaper after 07:00 PM. Then again I still recall an old Beatty wringer washer working quite well although Mothers fingers often were quite cold after hanging the wash on the clothes line.  Sure saved hydro though!  Wonder what happened to the sock stretcher?
